At age fourteen, he began to train seriously at Boca Ballet Theatre where he trained under Dan Guin and Jane Tyree from fourteen to nineteen with a mix of Vaganova and Cecchetti methods of classical ballet. Following high school graduation, Tyler furthered his academic and artistic pursuits at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana where he double majored and graduated Cum Laude with High Distinction in Dance Performance and Distinction in English Literature. There he performed soloist and principal roles such as a lead soloist in Maria Konrad’s “Bronze”, the principal role “Paolo” in “Flower Festival”, and the Nutcracker/Sugar Cavalier in “The Nutcracker” under the guidance of Maria Konrad, Cynthia Pratt, and Marek Cholewa.
Last season he was a Company Artist with Canyon Concert Ballet under the leadership of Michael Pappalardo, performing principal, soloist, and corps de ballet roles in “Dracula”, “Nutcracker”, and “Swan Lake” among other productions. In his free time, Tyler likes to cook, read, and enjoy coffee with friends. He is very excited to join Rochester City Ballet for this season.
