Sofia Stitz was born and raised in Dumont, New Jersey, where she began dance at the age of 3 at Broadway Bound Dance Center. She recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Ballet along with a BS in Biology in April 2024. Sofia has had the privilege of training under Jiang Qi, Deirdre Carberry, Tricia Sundbeck, Isabel Elfson, Shauna Steele, Rocco Santorufo, Christine DeVito, and Erica Ratkovicz over the years. Sofia has performed numerous works including “Odette” in “Swan Lake”, along with soloist roles in “La Bayadere”, “Paquita”, “Giselle”, and “Raymonda”. Sofia has also attended summer and winter training programs, some of which include American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, and Open World Dance Foundation. She is looking forward to beginning her professional career at Rochester City Ballet for the 2024/2025 season!
