Samantha Howe

Samantha Howe received her early training at Connecticut Concert Ballet and left home to attend Walnut Hill School for the Arts during her high school years. Upon graduating in 2017, Sam joined Ballet Austin’s fellowship program and second company, where she had the opportunity to perform ballets like George Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie and Petipa’s Paquita Pas de Trois. She then joined Ballet Tucson as a senior apprentice, where she had the opportunity to work with Balanchine Repetiteur Zippora Karz on George Balanchine’s Serenade and Concerto Barroco. 

Joining Rochester City Ballet in 2021 as an apprentice, she was then promoted to company member mid-season. She has especially enjoyed performing in the roles of Harlequin, Snow Queen, Arabian Coffee, Chinese Tea, and English in Tim Draper’s The Nutcracker, a Princess in Robert Gardner’s Firebird, Flora in Salvatore Aiello’s Turn of the Screw, and The Bird in Shannon Purpura’s Peter and the Wolf. 

Sam received her American Ballet Theater National Training Curriculum, levels pre-primary through Level 3, training and teaching certificate in the summer of 2021. More recently, Sam has cherished the opportunity to work with the young dancers of the Rochester area in RCB’s production ofThe Nutcracker.
