Lily Janneck

Growing up on the island of Maui, Lily Janneck was certain that she’d one day become a professional surfer. Her surfing ambitions came to an immediate stop the moment she took her first ballet class at the age of 9. Lily was head over heels for ballet and by the age of 12, she traveled across the Pacific Ocean to attend her first ballet summer intensive. Although the atmosphere of the ballet intensive was opposite from the laid-back “Aloha” culture Lily grew up in, she loved it nevertheless! During Lily’s years of training, she had the opportunity to learn from incredible ballet instructors from all over including Catherine Lewellen from Elite Classical Coaching (ECC) in Dallas Texas. Under Lewellen’s coaching, Lily would go on to win second overall in the ADC IBC finals as well as complete the final round of YAGP Finals 2021. After Lily graduated from ECC, she traded in her cowboy hat for a parka and accepted a traineeship with Alberta Ballet in Canada. The following year in 2022, Lily was hired to guest in Ballet Dortmund’s production of Swan Lake. While performing on tour in Germany, Lily danced alongside countless groundbreaking ballerinas including Iana Salanko, Maia Makhateli, and Mackenzie Brown.
