Katherine Duffy grew up in Readington, NJ. At the age of 15 she left home to study ballet at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under Dean Susan Jaffe. There she got the chance to dance lead roles in The Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Allegro Brilliante, Sir Frederick Ashton’s Birthday Offering, and Metallurgy, a premier by Susan Jaffe. She graduated high school in 2015 and went on to dance for the Pennsylvania Ballet II directed by Angel Corella where she danced in The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Cinderella, Le Corsaire, and George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments.

In 2017 she joined the Rochester City Ballet where she has danced classical roles such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen and Arabian in The Nutcracker, The Lilac Fairy and Princess Florine from Julia Erickson’s Sleeping Beauty, Robert Gardner’s Sylvia Pas de Deux, and Lisette in Mark Diamond’s Moulin D’Paris. She has also been featured in a number of contemporary works such as the Rite of Spring by David Palmer, American Concerto by Robert Garner, Rise Up Lights by Francesca Genovese, and Into the Blue by Jared Brunson.
